SOMA BAY GUIDE Independent guide to Soma Bay & the surrounding coast.
← Coast Explained

ORIGINAL FIELD NOTE / 01 · 2 OCTOBER 2026

A sea view is only
half the story.

“Meet at the beach” leaves too much to guess. The venue, the way you reach the water and the arrangement for your visit are three different details.

Choose the experience.
Then name the venue.

The Breakers describes reef access via a jetty, with ORCA Dive Club integrated into the hotel. Kempinski describes a sandy hotel beach. Those are useful examples of different shore experiences; neither description grants a visiting resident or a private-rental guest admission.

A booking at The Breakers also does not make its hotel frontage the kite meeting point. The hotel and 7BFT KiteHouse publish a shuttle arrangement between separate locations. Ask whether your booking is at the main station or another spot, and where you should actually meet.

THE USEFUL QUESTION
“Which venue should I arrive at, where do we meet, and what is included in my booking?”

Four ways to spend a shore day.

  1. 7BFT KiteHouse. Confirm the station or spot, the session meeting point and any pickup arrangement. Published hotel shuttles do not establish collection from a private home.
  2. Marina Abu Soma. Use it to orient yourself. A marina pin does not tell you which berth or venue an operator uses; get the departure instructions for your booking.
  3. Kempinski. Confirm admission and the facilities included in your visit. A sandy beach in a hotel description is not a public beach-access promise.
  4. The Breakers / ORCA. Ask the operator about the booked activity, meeting point and conditions on the day. The map identifies the hotel reference, not a surveyed jetty entrance.

What this map cannot tell you.

It does not classify every metre of shoreline, assess swimming conditions or establish beach rights. We also omit jetty length: the hotel’s diving page and Somabay’s jetty page publish different measurements.
