Spend time in the neighbourhood
If possible, stay in the project you are considering at the time of year you expect to use the home. Try the grocery run, transport and guest arrival arrangements. Ask which services are operating now and which are planned.
Ask for written answers
- What is completed and handed over, and what remains under construction?
- Who manages the property and what do service charges cover?
- How are repairs, utility issues and out-of-hours problems handled?
- What are the rules for tenants, visitors, deliveries and pets?
- Which facilities can this property’s occupants use, and at what cost?
- What internet service is available in the actual unit?
After handover
For the practical work after handover, use Your home between visits. Agree keyholding, visit reports, repair approval and unresolved work with the person managing the actual property; a published repair service is not proof of a home-management arrangement.
