Water, electricity and fault reports

Who owns the next step?

Start with the account, the person responsible and a clear report. Published electricity and water contacts, office-location limits and a private worksheet.

THE HOME / THREE RESPONSIBILITIES

Match the issue
to the person.

Agree these roles for the actual home. They organise the report; they do not diagnose a fault or establish network ownership.

EgyptERA / unresolved complaint

BEFORE AN OFFICE TRIP

Ask for the counter,
then the address.

The trial water portal publishes the references below. They do not establish which counter serves your account or a verified entrance.

No utility-office pin is drawn. The Safaga source point resolves to a different business on the real map; the Hurghada descriptions refer to different addresses.

Safaga / portal centre reference

Km 3, opposite Mubarak 1

Published: 08:00–16:00; working days not stated

The source coordinate resolves to a different business on the real map. Confirm the customer counter and address before travelling.

Hurghada / portal centre reference

Airport Road, opposite Ragac private schools

Published: 08:00–16:00; working days not stated

The regional company publishes a different headquarters address in Al Kawthar. The counter for your account is unconfirmed.

When water or electricity is not working, a useful report needs more than “Soma Bay”. Give the exact development and home, what you observed and when, then agree who will follow the request. A repair appointment, a building problem and a supply-account query can need different people.

Start with the bill and the home’s arrangements

Keep the provider named on the bill, the person who controls the account and the home’s reporting contact together. Ask your owner or manager whether charges are paid directly to a utility, through the development or through another agreed arrangement. The guide has not established one account model for Somabay, Ras Soma or the mainland-shore homes.

For a rented home, agree who reports a fault, who authorises a visit and who handles a billing query. Before an owner leaves, record the same responsibilities with the home handover. A meter reading, payment receipt and service-charge statement answer different questions; retain their dates and descriptions rather than treating one as proof of the others.

Report what you observed, without diagnosing the system

Record the affected room or fixture, the time the issue was first noticed, and any message already received from management. Ask the responsible person to establish whether the issue concerns the home, shared equipment or the wider supply. The responsibility diagram is an organising aid; it does not describe this home’s wiring, pipework or network ownership.

Use the contact and qualified technician agreed for the actual installation. This chapter does not give instructions for opening electrical panels, resetting equipment, changing valves or treating water. If the situation is urgent or unsafe, use your established emergency arrangements; the enquiry references below are not a verified local emergency-response chain. See household care planning for the separate limits of the guide’s care references.

Electricity: a published hotline, then the appropriate account route

The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company’s telephone page publishes 121 as its hotline. A separate notice dated 9 May 2023 describes outage and technical-complaint reporting through that number and announces an electricity-reporting app. The older announcement is retained as dated context; the guide has not installed the app or tested it.

Neither source identifies the electricity supplier, account holder, meter arrangement or internal reporting chain for your particular home. Ask the person responsible for the account which route applies. No local attendance, English-language service, operating hours or restoration time is confirmed here. The shortcode is presented for use in Egypt; no international number is inferred.

Water: distinguish the national reference from the regional company

The Holding Company for Water and Wastewater’s FAQ publishes 125 for water complaints and for wastewater complaints outside Cairo and Alexandria. That page’s modification metadata is 31 July 2022. Its separate new-city answer points to another authority; it does not establish which authority serves a Soma Bay home.

The Red Sea water company’s own pages also publish 125, redseaww@redseaww.com.eg and 01001849993, with the latter explicitly described as a WhatsApp contact. These are published enquiry references. The guide has not called, emailed or messaged them, or confirmed responsibility for any development’s private systems. The company’s undated contact page contains different landline sets in its main table and footer, so no landline is selected as the reliable answer.

Check the counter before making an office trip

HCWW’s digital portal labels itself a trial launch. Its Red Sea filter lists a Safaga centre at “Km 3, opposite Mubarak 1” and a Hurghada centre on “Airport Road, opposite Ragac private schools”. It shows 08:00–16:00, without a working-day schedule. The regional company’s contact page describes its headquarters in Al Kawthar, opposite the National Bank, at the Km 56 water pumping station. These are different published address descriptions, not interchangeable destinations.

The portal’s Safaga coordinate link resolves to a different business on the real map. A water-company map search produces other locations; that does not settle the correct customer counter. We therefore retain the portal’s references and this discrepancy without drawing a utility-office pin, choosing a nearest office or treating either point as an entrance. Before travelling, ask the provider which counter handles the actual account, its full address and current opening.

The portal advertises bill, meter-reading and service-request functions. No account was linked, payment made or service request submitted. Its existence does not establish that a home or foreign owner can use a particular function.

An unresolved electricity complaint is separate from a repair

EgyptERA’s English complaint template describes an unresolved complaint already raised with the competent electricity company, asks for the earlier complaint and response, and publishes complaints@egyptera.org. Its form also has a required National ID field. We have not established how a foreign owner without that document can apply. The page’s “Date of Submission” changes with the visit; it is not the source’s publication date.

Use the official guidance for the actual case. The linked procedure page has English navigation but Arabic body text about a meter-installation complaint; its documents should not be presented as a universal checklist for every fault. The guide supplies no eligibility decision, legal remedy, case submission or resolution deadline. This contact is not a substitute for the person arranging a repair.

Keep the request open until someone checks the result

Save the provider’s reference, the person following it, the next promised update and what remains unresolved. If attendance is proposed, agree access, the scope of work and approval of any charge with the person responsible. “Reported”, “booked”, “attended” and “reviewed complete” are separate stages.

The download contains the published references and a blank account-and-fault worksheet. Complete your own copy privately; do not add identity numbers, passwords, access codes, card details or medical information. It complements the return-home condition report and connection worksheet. The three dated PDF editions remain unchanged; this is a separate addition.

Sources read 3 October 2026. A read date is not a supplier confirmation or a refreshed source date. No home address or private account was submitted, and no utility-office entrance, current supply condition, tariff or emergency response was verified.
