Soma Bay in winter

What to consider for a winter-sun stay, from daylight and evenings to your activity plans.

Read the month in context

Winter planning is about the whole day: a daytime outdoor plan, the evening temperature and the amount of daylight. Use the climate comparison as context, then check the forecast and provider arrangements nearer the visit.

The climate values shown here come from the guide’s retained Hurghada climate reference. They are not observations from a Somabay weather station.

Choose activities around the actual conditions

A beach day, golf round, spa appointment and water-sports lesson respond differently to the weather. Put the experiences you most value into the plan, with enough flexibility to move an outdoor session.

For a hotel, ask about the facilities and operating arrangements relevant to the period. A destination-wide winter-sun description does not establish pool heating or every seasonal service.

A comfortable first few days

Agree airport pickup and the first evening before arrival. Then use a short itinerary to explore the coast, a named venue and an activity, keeping longer excursions for a day when the full arrangements are clear.

Use the month selector to compare the values with other times of year. Forecasts, sea conditions and provider decisions should be checked separately near the date.

Connect season and location

The same month can feel different across a sheltered outdoor space, an exposed terrace and a planned session on the water. Ask about the actual accommodation and activity setting.

For a longer stay, compare the daily routine as well as the season: food, transport, internet and the surroundings of the home matter throughout the year.
